Overview

Ajoomma Pocha in Subang Jaya stands out as a cozy Korean eatery that artfully balances authenticity with a warm, homelike atmosphere. Nestled in a bustling neighborhood, this restaurant welcomes diners into a space reminiscent of a Korean home, complete with charming decor and a friendly, approachable vibe. The experience feels personal—part kitchen table, part neighborhood gathering spot—making it ideal for families, friends, and those seeking a genuine taste of Korea without the formalities of fine dining.

The menu features beloved staples central to Korean comfort food. Highlights include their signature Banchan platters, which set the tone with a variety of fresh, flavorful side dishes. Dishes like Spam Kimchi Fried Rice and Seafood Pajeon harmonize traditional flavors with a touch of creativity, delivering satisfying textures and balanced seasoning. The Budae Jjigae is a hearty stew brimming with kimchi, mushroom, pork, and the distinct umami of anchovy broth, offering warmth and depth that speaks of slow-cooked care. Meanwhile, options such as Chicken Gimbap and Korean Pancake highlight the homestyle cooking approach, inviting diners to savor familiar yet lovingly prepared dishes.

Customer feedback consistently praises the restaurant’s attention to authenticity and hospitality. Many note the genuine taste of the kimchi and the freshness in each bite, while others appreciate the relaxed, almost familial interaction with the staff. The owner’s warmth, particularly towards families with children, elevates the experience beyond food — fostering a welcoming environment where kids feel at ease with soft toys and playful nooks.

Despite the charm, some patrons point out that certain house rules on refills and drink choices slightly temper the experience, though seasonal generosity during celebrations has left a positive impression. Pricing tends toward reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, reflecting the home-cooked, handcrafted elements behind each plate.

Overall, Ajoomma Pocha offers a satisfying journey into Korean flavors through a lens of hospitality and casual comfort. It’s a place to return to for authentic dishes that nourish both body and spirit, perfect for those who appreciate honest, heartfelt cooking in a setting that feels like an extended Korean family table.

Superb. Can i give 100stars..? Fried chicken is juicy and tender, kimbap is crunchy and fresh, seafood pan jeon is tasty. Everything is just my style. The food, the environment and the service. The ahjooma is more like noona. She too young to be ahjooma hehe. And she treated my daughter free kids meal. How lovely. Thank you. Very kids friendly place. My daughter is busy with the soft toys , wooden blocks and kitty doll house.

Good food, affordable dishes, the place felt cozy (like someone's house). Ordered sundubu jigae, kimchi jeon and cold noodles. All 3 were good, soup was better with chilli powder. Owner was friendly too, would come back again

If you like Korean and homecooked food, Ajooma Pocha is worth a visit. The menu is pretty standard, and they don't serve beef. However, the taste is quite good. Both the food and the restaurant give off a homely vibe. The price is also reasonable, so I would say it's worth coming again for sure. The kimchi is homemade and I would also recommend the Rameyon.

Is a authentic Korean food. But in terms of refill portion is not so authentic. For the refill food is limited 2 times per table, drinks is not free. However, we receive free drinks during CNY and angpao at the Christmas tree. Good start in CNY. Taste wise was OK and not too oily.

It was my first time trying bimbimbap and absolutely loved it. Service was good there was even one person that approached me and told me how to eat my meal. The omija juice may not be for everybody as it has quite an unusual taste but I enjoyed it. Ambience could have been better as the restaurant looks a little run down and the bathroom didn't even have hand soap.
